Internal Medicine Built Around the Heart — and What Accompanies ItOur approach doesn't stop at the presenting complaint. We take future cardiovascular risk into account from the start, and we design care to continue well past the point of treatment — with close attention,
clear guideline-based standards, and continuity of care over time.
Accurate diagnosis. Explanations you can actually understand. Continuous, ongoing care. These are the principles behind how we practice medicine.
Clinical Depth, from a Cardiologist
Dr. Haegeun Song completed her fellowship training
in general and interventional cardiology at Asan Medical Center
and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Ulsan College of Medicine.
She later served as a professor of cardiology and director
of the cardiac rehabilitation center
at Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital.
Her research has appeared in more than 40 peer-reviewed papers,
including NEJM, Circulation, and JACC — work that shapes ho
she evaluates heart disease and its accompanying chronic conditions together,
rather than as separate problems.
Time to Talk, and Explanations Grounded in Evidence
New patients are given the time an initial consultation actually calls for. Beyond your current symptoms, we take into account
your cardiovascular risk factors, medical history, family history,
and current medications before recommending a direction for care. Every result and every treatment recommendation is grounded
in the guidelines of the American, European, and Korean
cardiology societies — and explained clearly enough that you can follow the reasoning, not just the conclusion.
A Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Designed by a Cardiologist
Care after a cardiac procedure or surgery isn't the end of treatment.
It's another phase of it, focused on recovery and reducing the risk
of recurrence. Our home-based cardiac rehabilitation program
was designed by a cardiologist, and brings exercise guidance,
medication management, lifestyle counseling,
and risk-factor management together into a single, coordinated plan.
Digital Health, Applied with Judgment
Dr. Song previously led clinical research at a medical AI company,
an experience that informs how digital tools are used in your care here: selectively, and only where the clinical evidence supports it. Blood pressure, heart rate, and ECG readings taken outside
the clinic can be incorporated into your record, giving your physician a fuller picture than an office visit alone provides.
A System Built for International Patients
Dr. Song spent six years treating international patients
at a cardiac specialty hospital in Shanghai, an experience
that gave her a close view of what it means to navigate medical care
in an unfamiliar country. That perspective informs how The Heart Clinic
supports its foreign patients: consultations in English,
English-language prescriptions and medical certificates,
clear explanations of test results, and support with multinational
insurance billing — coordinated as a single system rather
than a series of separate requests.
Cardiac symptoms are rarely evaluated in isolation here. From chest pain, palpitations, and shortness of breath to risk factors like hypertension,
high cholesterol, diabetes, and obesity, care is approached as one connected picture — with diagnostic testing linked directly to the management that follows.
