Heart Clinic

From Initial Diagnosis to Long-Term Heart Care From your first consultation during uncertain moments to
recovery after treatment,
The Heart Clinic stays with you
throughout your heart health journey.

Arrhythmia. Do not ignore palpitations or irregular heartbeats. We identify the cause of arrhythmia, evaluate abnormal heart rhythms, and provide long-term stroke prevention and heart-health management. The image compares a normal heart rhythm with an abnormal rhythm in atrial fibrillation.

Types of Arrhythmia

The heart beats faster than normal, usually at more than 100 beats per minute.
Symptoms may include palpitations, shortness of breath, chest pain, or dizziness.

The heart beats more slowly than normal, usually fewer than 60 beats per minute.
Symptoms may include dizziness or sudden fainting.

Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common irregular heart rhythms
and is an arrhythmia that requires proper treatment.
The atria do not contract normally and instead quiver, causing an irregular pulse.
More than half of Korea’s 440,000 patients with arrhythmia have atrial fibrillation,
and the number is rising rapidly as the population ages.

Atrial Fibrillation Why It Can Be Dangerous

Atrial fibrillation can be dangerous even without noticeable symptoms.
When the atria do not contract properly, blood may stagnate and form clots.
These clots can travel to the brain and cause ischemic stroke.
Untreated atrial fibrillation may increase stroke risk by approximately five times
and mortality risk by about two times. Since more than 20% of ischemic strokes
are associated with atrial fibrillation, early diagnosis and management are essential.

How a blood clot caused by atrial fibrillation can travel to the brain and cause an ischemic stroke
Do you experience these symptoms? Repeated rapid or skipped heartbeats, an irregular pulse, frequent dizziness or unexplained fatigue, strong heart pounding, sudden dizziness, or feeling faint. Recommended for those who experience recurring palpitations or dizziness, have fainted or nearly fainted, were diagnosed with atrial fibrillation or another arrhythmia during a checkup, need ongoing atrial fibrillation management, or experience unusual heart rates with chest discomfort.
